Stoking Up A Convention

I have decided to take up the Chairmanship job for the 52 Annual O Scale Convention in 2020 to be held in St. Louis. With some coaching and great moral support from a few of the fellows who hosted the Rockville 50th 2018 meet, and blessings from Bruce and the O Scale Kings crew we would invite your participation.

I have posted a quick video on my YouTube Channel to start to get the word out and get some Internet search engine indexing going as the start of publicity.

So welcome to the channel once again!

I would like to invite STEM Students 18 years and older to participate with me in developing a major model railroad convention. There will be plenty of opportunities to shine and stand out among a diverse team of volunteers and I might add that working on a big project can go straight on your resumes. A great way to get started in the hobby is join the O Scale Kings organization for $10.

I will be hosting Zoom Video Conference Meetings with both ladies and gentlemen from across the USA and Canada in an effort to collaborate making the work easy and distributed. In addition, I will be using my YouTube channel to keep folks in touch on our progress. If you want to be included, send me your email to get the invitations to join in the conference calls.

The unique thing about this convention is we will be pairing up with the National Model Railroad Association's St. Louis Gateway 2020 so you can imagine the synergy we can bring these events for model railroaders of all gauges and ages and their families as well as for students looking to learn new things and network with professionals from all types of industries engaged in this hobby. Publicity about our convention will also be announced at the NMRA Utah Convention coming up in July for the Gateway 2020 Meet.

How did they start a steam engine in the old days? They stoked up the fire to get a head of steam in the boiler. I would like to do the same and bring new people into a wonderful hobby. And you might want to kick start your career straight out of College or Technical School with a good reference by working with a group of dedicated
volunteers. We are also looking for suggestions whether that be clinics that you would like to see or another type of special activity during the meet. Let us know so we can incorporate that into the program.
